Each light sculpture is handmade in our own studio. A small, diverse team of artists, technicians and designers, we treat every commission as if it is our only one. It can take up to three months to complete a large piece, with over 1000 individual elements to craft and position. Beauty, like nature, can’t be rushed but it’s always worth the wait.

PORCELAIN'S STORY

The highest-quality ceramic known, porcelain is famed for its ability to create the most expressive and delicate shapes. The perfect artistic medium, it offers a pure channel of creativity, allowing for the most richly-detailed, intricate work possible. But it is also notoriously difficult to tame. And only an exceptionally skilled ceramist can bring out its true potential. The porcelain we use is the finest of its kind, with a translucency that’s unequalled. When creating lit and illuminating objects, this is key.

patience and the keenest of eyes to achieve.

Firing

Each porcelain leaf is fired in
our ovens, at 1260C. Hotter than than any
known volcano, this ultra-high temperature
gives the unique strength yet delicacy
we seek.

          A Harmony of Durability

The metallic frame is the backbone of every structure we make. Each one is meticulously handcrafted, to ensure every porcelain leaf can be positioned to capture, reflect and create light in the way that best responds to the space around it. This means no two frames are ever identical. Each has a natural integrity and organic flow that mirrors the beautiful irregularity found in nature.

All frames are made from the highest grade stainless steel. Just like porcelain, this is a material that lives on forever. Together, porcelain and steel create a perfect harmony of durability.
